All sectors under civil engineering discipline are important for human growth. What matters is what do I love to be , because the sector I love, I will perform best. One must love what he does, then only he can really contribute to that sector. In my case, I am basically a structural engineer but I love working in hydraulic structures, like Dams and Bridges, so I have gained much expertise in that sector, though I have worked in every sector of civil engineering in 33 years of my career.

              Proper plumbing, drainage and sanitary work are required as most of the leakeges and subsequent structural damages take place due to the defective materials and workmanship. The following points must be noted by the purchaser.

■Layout of plumbing and drainage system should be such that it can be easily maintained in case of any problem or defect.

■Proper jointing and protecting of concealed water supply, drainage and sanitation lines help to avoid leakages in future. Piping and drainage as built layout from the builder should be insisted on.

■It is generally observed that the leakages from toilets and bathrooms are due to defective joints between the pipes and fittings rather than joint between the tiles. Hence all joints the tiles. Hence all the joints between the plumbing lines /fittings must be properly tested for leakproofness before concealing them. Similarly all joints between sanitary lines, fittings and fixtures must be properly sealed before they are concealed in the sunken portion or in the walls.

■Leakages should also be observed around the locations of nahani trap outlet.

I would go with Water Supply / Waste Water the most important to Human life on earth which creates revenue, resources, opportunities, water treatment plants, efficient energy and so on etc...

All of the above mentioned fields play important role in development of a country. However, from my point of view hydraulic and water management are the best because I have been interested and involved in them for 13 years.

The beauty of Civil engineering is to make the wonderful structures along the earth. Being so important with the civil, Structures is the important discipline.

Roads is my answer.Because it is the basic need to communicate resources,conveyance and it is the basic need now a days.Though Water supply and its management is at its top priority,without proper roads and its alignment you cant reach the human being whom the water is needed.Water is by nature but proper construction of roads is neede to supply this need.
