The purpose of Baffle in hydraulic tank is as follows:
1. The hydraulic oil is returning to tank with high velocity, temperature due to these factors turbulance creates in the tank and also we have to give way and time to escape gas. To convert turbulant flow in to linear flow of hydraulic oil, to give way and time to gases producing during function of oil, to give time to heat dissipation in oil and finally the oil near suction area shall not return, I think these are all the some of the functions of Baffle plate/plates.
