For UAE where I work, the goods can be cleared in import with a copy of the invoice and the certificate of origin, but there is deposit on the invoice and the certificate of origin AED 1000 for each of them .. The duration of this deposit is 3 months, if u bring them during this time u can reteurn back ur depoist . if u not , u can get back ur mony again
Yes in Saudi Arabia it is possible to clear imported consignment from sea port using copies of the import documents. However a typical shipping line letter of guarantee form has to be filled and stamped by importer then submitted to the concerned Bank where original documents are to arrive later on, this is against a temporary blockage of the full amount of the consignment (some times not if importer is a sound customer of the bank with large volume of business). The L/G is to be given along with copies of the import documents to Customs authority for clearance of consignment.

yes it is posible. here in Qatar we can clear the shipment with copy documents, but somehow we will pay a penalty of 1% of the CIF value. rather than paying heavy port storage to wait for the original document and it might cost more than the 1% penalty.
Yes its possible can be if we pay extra 2% deposit to custom's. Money will be return back after submitting the original document's within three months.
By use of Letter of Undertaking issuing by Importer with Issuing bank

I DONT KNOW OTHER COUNTRY RULLS BUT INDIAN CUSTOMS RULES IS POSSIBLE FOR COPY DOCUMENTS AND UNDERTAKING PROCEDURE BUT IS TAKE TIME MORE THAN 1 MONTHS
