The Western world remains enslaved to the idea that the shareholder is king. Jack Ma's approach does not seem to be leading him to disaster, but the Western economies may well be doomed if they do not confront their nightmare, to find that it is not a nightmare after all. This is strictly apeaking a political and economic answer, but these form part of corporate "culture", if it can be so named.
