I prefer to use BGP for large scale industry. Since you can devide it by Autonomous Systems number per branches/area/country. It also has many attributes option so you can manage your routing path in advance. BGP is open standard protocol, many vendors can support it. Other option is OSPF, but it has number of router limitation per area, we need to plan and design properly to achieve optimal routing in the big area.
