What I have learned over time is that problems do not have timing to occur, their nature, timing and extent is unknown when communicated at first.

It is how one handles / attends them is what makes them a MASTER.

Our control over emotions and attitude is what makes a good problem solver.

I believe one should not make commotion and should first look at what has happened, what is the cause and how can solution be provided, the main ingredient is CALMNESS. If you are not calm, you will not be able to think rationally.

Calm mind opens ways for solution, while confused mind increases work and destroys relationships.

When Problems arises, first is to investigate the Root causes of the problems. Then accept it as a true Professional and acknowledge with a practical Solution to the problem making a win win situation. Plus take Preventive and Corrective measures, not to repeat henceforth in future. "You can't really begin to appreciate life until it has knocked you down a few times. You can't really begin to appreciate love until your heart has been broken. And you can't really begin to appreciate happiness until you've known sadness. Once you have walked through the valley, the view from the mountain top is breathtaking".

Avoid Panic. Analyze the situation, business impact, identify the key stakeholders for the impacted area, follow the Standard Operating Procedure, get the right teams to the table, focus on restoring normalcy (even if it is with limited capabilities) which will cut down the noise, in parallel put to-gether the core team (FIX-IT) and chalk out a plan to fully restore normalcy, keep communication channels open to key stake holders and impacted user with regular updates. Publish a restore plan and work towards approvals and executing of the plan to restore normalcy.
