As a warehouse manager can you manage any kind of warehouses whatever the kind of goods?

sure managing warehouses is almost the same considering the different commodities that are to be managed in to and out of the warehouses facility.
however with some commodities the warehouse manager and his staff have to be qualified and trained to manage these material safely i.e dangerous goods the trends and methodologies of managing warehouses have slightly changed over the past decades presenting in new WMS and concept other than just the FIFO and LIFO in some industries such as the FMCG and the fact remains with an experienced warehouse manager you can still manage different warehouses of different goods.

As a warehouse manager you can handle any warehouse with a little difference.
If you are handling construction company's warehouse all in sudden you are getting opportunity to handle FMCG warehouse, only you have to take care off food expiry dates and you need to apply FIFO and LIFO methods, you need to know which item need what temp etc, otherwise all the basics functions of the WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT is same with a little difference.

I fully believe that a good manager can manage any kind of goods - some specilisations such as hazardous goods will require further training and understanding though

yes , with but you will need time to be familiar with the items in the warehouse. 

This is possible for sure, but it requires understanding the nature and storage circumstances and conditions of each stored product, and also, it is very important to know the sales figures of each product, in order to avoid lack of any product or the stagnant of it.
Coordinating this sales department is very critical and is not less important than studying the product nature and characteristics.
