What is "Synergy" in team performance?

Synergy is the ability of a group to outperform even its best individual member. Team synergy is a critical element for High-Performance Teams. Synergy can occur in any team context, whether it is in the corporate world of business or in sports teams.

Its the cooperation of team members to transfer skills to one another and  effectively reducing the impacts of weaknesses of some of the team member by utilizing his/her strength more. Its just like cricket. Bowlers try hard to win match with their expertise  if their batsmen are unable to score high.
