How do you proceed when you need to make a decision and no policy exists?

Decision-making depends on the Job Title in the company you

A person business development manager in the company cares to make decisions outside of company policy

Another case that did not exist Development Manager

The right decisions do not need a corporate policy, you only need to implement and carry out the responsibilities of such decisions

I will notify my manager and follow his leads....

Most the International companies organize the decision making process by setting the Guide lines for the decision taken. In case there is no policy to organize the decision making. Each one behave and take a decision as per his job level.

Although There are limitations for any decision maker as per the Management level and his job level  as he could not exceed these limitations under any circumstances. Such as an example : Project Value 1-5 MUSD decision maker could be Sales Manager or senior Sales Manger. when the value of  the Project more than 5 MUSD need to Senior Management or Vise President to take  a decision and approval and when the Project value of more that 10 MUSD need to discuss with High Level Management to take a decision and so forth.

i follow the best practice or the common sense and if i can involve others will be great
