When it comes to a study research, which method you prefer to use, and why? "Quantitative Research" or "Qualitative Research"?

This is depends on the objective we want to achieve, Qualitative research is primarily exploratory research.  It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research this is depend on the objective we want to achieve, Qualitative Research is also used to uncover trends in thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem. Some common methods include focus groups (group discussions), individual interviews, and participation/observations. The sample size is typically small, and respondents are selected to fulfill a given quota. While Quantitative research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data or data that can be transformed into useable statistics. Quantitative Research uses measurable data to formulate facts and uncover patterns in research. Quantitative data collection methods are much more structured than Qualitative data collection methods. Quantitative data collection methods include various forms of surveys – online survey, Face to Face, CAPI, CATI, Using tablet . The sample size for quantitative research is more bigger.

Qualitative research is applicable and useful for social science subjects, where non-nueremical information is available.

Quantitative research is helpful in all areas where there is numerical data is applicable

Qualitative research

Qualitative research is by definition exploratory, and it is used when we don’t know what to expect, to define the problem or develop an approach to the problem.

It’s also used to go deeper into issues of interest and explore nuances related to the problem at hand. Common data collection methods used in qualitative research are:

Focus groups

Triads

Dyads

In-depth interviews

Uninterrupted observation

Bulletin boards

Ethnographic participation/observation.

Quantitative research

Quantitative research is conclusive in its purpose, as it tries to quantify a problem and understand how prevalent it is by looking for projectable results to a larger population.

For this type of study we collect data through:

Surveys (online, phone, paper)

Audits

Points of purchase (purchase transactions)
