Digital Signal Processing, ARM32-bit Microprocessors Architecture, FPGAs and SoCs and of course C\\C++ is fundamental, if you could learn C# it is a plus.

These subjects in parallel can be an added advantage:

Computer Networks, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, Analog and Digital Communication Systems and some fine hand in a programming language like C, C++ or Python will be an added advantage.
