Is it safer to back up my important data on the computer itself, external USB or external hard drive?

I Think save my important data in more than support external hard drive , external usb and on cloud website.

Important data? Never mind where it is because any device can fail so go safe and make2 backups on2 different devices.If you really want to store your data for a long time, use magnetic tape backup solution like banks and TV production does!

In my opinion the safest way to backup important data is either on cloud storage services or a NAS backup system. It depends if you want them saved in a local or remote location.

Never backup your computer to the same computer. Do it and keep it on a Cloud Storage Device. That is the best way to save your data

It’s not recommended to take a backup of your important data on the same computer, it must be store on the secondary location or external storage device. If your computer failed, you will completely lost your data.

 

I will recommend you to do routine backup on the External HDD instead of USB Flash disk.

It's better to have a multiple backup storage, Like example you can have a cloud storage like Dropbox, box or google drive and also keep a copy of your file in a n external HDD
