How do you minimize the polygons of an object in 3DMax?

usually, while working in large scale projects . the application start to acting slow. you need  to get ride of the slowness due to the  number of polygons. what kind of an option you normally use?

1) LOD  (Level of detaails) 

2) Using Normal map and displacement map for details instead of increasing polygons

3) We can tweak display setting for high performance. Ex Show as Box.

4) If their are multiple models, we can instance it.

5) We can proxy the model for fast viewport

1. LOD (Level of details) - Means lower details for far objects and more for close.2.Using Maps Like Normal Bump instead of High detailed objects3.Using object that have Turbosmooth and lower number of polygons instead of colapsed obj4.Make Static object display as bonding Box5.choosing Objrct color instead of Material6. put your viewport on standard mode instead of high quality7. put lighting and shadow on illuminate with defualt light instead of scene light
