How do you talk to a customer who is not interested in talking to you?

If you're trying to communicate with a customer and he pretends to be uninterested, but you are more than confident that he needs your product/service. However, he's always using his phone, answering phone calls, and easily distracted by people around him.

How would you deal with him in this case?

We always have to trust on our instincts on what might attract the person in-front of us. It might differ from one person to another to understand that point of interest. For instance it could be (physical expressions such as a smile and eye contact or physical interactions could be a word or a move) which triggers the alarm and gains the customer's full attention. It could also be your sales or marketing pitch, and from that precise point, differences can be made.

first try to notice from the beginning and avoid the conversation and try to find what his is interest in and focus about to first make customer interested in the conversation

The best think to do would be to talk to him about things that he is interested in. We are all selective listeners. Paying attention to what is important to us and ignoring the rest. So a good way to go about it is showing genuine interest in the customer and talk to him about what he is interested in.

You can try applying this principal elsewhere and get people to get into genuine and engaging conversations.

If you think he isn't interested in you or your product then you'll need to focus on the bullet points only and keep the interaction short. This may be a customer who isn't interested in the same old sales pitch and is only partially listening for key words. If they are truly not interested you will never be able to catch their attention. But the fact you have earned a meeting with them either in person should mean that he is indeed interested so gather your thoughts and when they stop to breath wind up and pitch.

First I will greet the customer with my best smile. And if she / he is just ignore me? I will continue to speak if needed and i nice respectful way. I encountered customer like this before just giving me his tiger look and i continue to speak and smile..then later he is the one asking something....mostly patience is needed but if customer really wants silence? as long as i deliver the important details.... I will smile and keep quiet

First of all i have to check if the call time is the proper time for him to listen for my call otherwise i can offer calling him/her in another suitable time.

Secondly, my product knowledge plus my own skills are the factors which can create suspense for the client and let him/ her pay attention to the details.

Moreover if i could shift the call little bit to a  friendly way, it will help me to get his attention more however i should keep myself professional while the call as well

Even if you know the person doesn’t want to talk to you and may have been impolite, take the high road and keep things positive.Make sure the person knows you enjoyed the conversation (even if you didn’t ) and thank them for their time. Which might help you to maintain a healthy relationship rather than screwing it forever.
