How is cost control related to project control of a project? are they similar? in what aspects of managing projects?

I see that cost control is an integral part of the project control. A successful project is the one which achieves its goals within time and within budget.

Any cost deviations must be approved by management and customer(s) before accepting it.

They are different with a similar objectives to achieve the desired project outcome;

1/ Project control, deals with project priorities and relevant aspects to control uses data from monitoring activity to bring actual performance to planned performance whereas;

 

2/ Project cost control; organise, control the resources available, predict and pre-empt problems by coordination and communications between the project participants.
