It depend on the type of webiste , if webiste is informative about the company , this website need only to be responsive and suitable to be displayed on any screen .

But if the website give useful service like hospital appointment , government e services. I think it must have mobile application on android and IOS , to facilate the users to follow up his requests aand apply his request easily and don't depend on browsers limitations

Website and web application are different. Website is content based and application is user-action based.

My suggestion is to have a mobile application for those websites which interracts with the customers (shopping portals like ebay, amazon etc.) or used for socialising (facebook, orkut, twitter etc) or there are some organization-specific cases.

Not every website needs a mobile application, as with new UI libraries and tools the website can be mobile friendly.

Mobile apps are one of the most powerful marketing methods companies have today. Application in its general form is a program that stays on the user's device 24 hours a day so having a special application for your products and services gives you a golden chance that the user will always see him whenever he uses his smartphone.

Think of an ad that shows users of your service more than a hundred times a day !!

Not All, If the website needs wider audience and promote products and services you may need to  use youtube for video presentation, Facebook to promote products and services ..

In my opinion, it depends on what kind of service that present this website, for example Facebook it's a social network so the user should be able to view whats going on and control in his/her profile any time and everywhere.

And we don't forget that nowadays there is many frameworks and libraries that help to develop responsive website that works perfectly on different devices screens.

Mobile application can be developed according the customer/user requirement of the organization (if it for organization). But now days everyone has smart phone and internet also available to simplify there usage they can develop mobile applications.

I don't think that every website need a mobile app. Most of these apps are complete waste of money and time. Ask yourself what mobile apps you using daily  and I bet it will be Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and numerous messengers. )))) People tired of learning new apps. So instead wasting money for new mobile app development better optimize your website for mobiles and integrate it with Facebook.

Thanks Lana for asking me the question. It's obvious that the most used websites need mobile applications as you referred to Facebook, Google, YouTube. There is another solution for all websites I think you already know about responsive sites that's device friendly means it opens and fits in any device's display regardless of type of device you are using. I surely agree with your point that some websites need mobile friendly web application, besides we have to keep it in mind that all the websites don't need application only for using in mobile devices, but we need all websites to have responsive design that fits in all devices. Hopefully your question is answered properly. Thanks a lot for being connected.

Please visit my site which is device friendly and let me know your feedback: https://outsourcingnyttc.com/

Hi Lana, in my opinion it depends on the website. Responsive websites do not need app.
