Well first of all it is key to understand that youtubers/vloggers get paid from google Adsense rather than the youtube/vimeo/etc.. An averge pay (depending on how "hot" the topic is) is 5$ per CPM which means for every 1000 visitors the poster gets 5$. Let's do some maths:
1,000 views 5$
10,000 views 50$100,000 views 500$1,000,000 views 5000$10,000,000 views 50,000$
So you really need a loooooooooot of viewers to get some serious money.
