LAN local area network consists within a building connected with network devices like switches, routers etc. and VLAN VIRTUAL LOCAL AREA network is a concept of virualy logical domain's connectivity and communication. VLAN's are created in a SWITCH to seperated the goups and join the same domain like, sale department , purchase department etc etc to communicate each other.
