Face to Face interaction is highly effective way of communications as humans being feels comfortable in this way rather than online communication. Face to face interaction involves body language such as smiles, hand shakes, eyes, interaction in physical motion, emotions and feelings. On the other hand computer is a non living experience which creates boredom.

If by communicating through computers, you mean typing and chatting, then there are a lot of elements missing from the conversation which could lead to misunderstandings.

When you speak to someone, the tone of your voice, facial expressions, and even your hand movements give off the correct message that you're trying to communicate. However, when using computers to chat or type, all those elements are missing and it's kind of difficult to convey the tone of your voice with just words.

However, if you're talking about communication on skype or via any other video communication application, not much is missing but it still isn't the same as having someone present with you physically.
