In the telecom industry i work in, invoice is generated by us indicating the total minutes, rates and the amount due to us. The bill on the otherhand is generally used generated when  a client purchases our products and it indicates the total price of the products.

The Invoice is used when the items are supply and apply or apply only or installation only and it is Processed by the site engineer then the technical office engineer.

The Bill is used for the supply only and it is usually recived by the site engineers and proccesed by the purchasing dep.
