The mission of management control is briefly as follows:

  • To  review that the progress of the project / organizational activities is on track.
  • To check that the progress achieved/output  matches with expenditure incurred.
  • To check any deviation is design or completion schedule or cost 
  • To suggest remedial action,if any, in order to achieve the project goal in time with the scheduled budget.
  • To encourage  and motivate the project personnel  for good output.

The Function (Mission) of "Management Control",, is to ensure the correctly implementation of policies, procedures and plans in addition to compare "what is actually done" with "the planned figures", in order to identify and immediately correct any deviations and taking the necessary action to avoid appearing of such deviations once more in the future.

Every Management have certain roles to perform which are specific to the nature of the company's business however, in general, every management have common aim of achieving set and defined Goals within certain time frame. From this we can derive their missions , as under :::

Management is the profession of control.

1) To Set the Goals

2) To Put a workable plan with time frame

3) To allocate the resources

4) To  monitor the performance against the plans.

While the work is under process  they need to do the followings :

a) To set the Standards  both quantitative and qualitative terms. 

b) Measurement of actual performance

c) Compare actual performance with standards.

d) Analysis deviations

e) Initiate corrective measures.
