Climate change affects the global economy from East to West, but the most exposed are poor countries. Without investments into infrastructure and fast warning systems they could only remove damage from the next natural disasters.

The most dangerous is that the weather is unpredictable, could affect one specific area and intensity is rising year by year. This is could be translated into wrong water distribution (drought and floods).

Climate change requires development of new technologies : eco-freindly (to minimize the negative impact for the environment) and improving efficiency (with decreasing natural resources usage at the same time). The bad news is, that all the time we are acting ex post to the climate changes.

  • Q: What are the main effects that you would expect of climate change all over the world? A: There will be winners and losers from climate change. We expect the increase in rainfall in all of east China, Colombia, Ecuador, while the increase drought in the Caribbean and Chilean sea areas and western China, the Mediterranean and Peru, all by the year 2100. There are differing expectations about Africa, the incidence of drought in the north and the south, and extreme humidity in places Others, such as Kenya. These projections help us to predict the areas where agriculture will decrease and water supply. There will be water and abundant in the humid tropics and regions at high latitudes, but will decrease the availability of water will be increased drought conditions in areas on the mid-latitudes and semi-arid areas of low latitudes, which will display hundreds of millions of people to a watery crap growing. Q: How does climate change affect water supplies? A: The glaciers in the Himalayas ground water storage to be later released on a regular basis throughout the year, which fits some countries such as India and Pakistan. The same thing is happening in the Andes, which supplies water to a number of countries, such as Peru. If terrestrial glaciers retreated by a significant amount, it will experience often release water at risk mechanism. Global Global warming could also cause the occurrence of some of the problems in the coastal cities, according to the extent of rising sea levels, and these problems are related to water supply and a mechanism to get rid of sewage. Q: When can we expect to see a noticeable impact on health due to climate change? A: This may result in global warming is very slow rise in temperatures over the next thirty years. We should not expect an immediate change in health factors. This is what I call a creeping disaster. It will cause a rise is visible in the sea level by 1.5 cm per year, up almost 1.5 meters by the year 2100. This is not similar to the tsunami disaster: It is a slow change but enough to fill into the attention of engineers in many parts of the world. But when 146 million people live at an altitude of less than one meter of sea level, the failure to take any steps on climate change over a hundred coming year will leave a significant impact on the lives of many. Q: How will this affect the health of people, exactly? A: In addition to the increased morbidity and mortality caused by extreme weather events such as heatwaves, droughts and floods, it is likely to contribute to climate change to increase the burden of diseases, malnutrition, diarrhea and infections. High frequency of heart disease and respiratory also likely due to changes in air quality, and in the distribution of some disease vectors. All this may cause a significant burden on health services. Q: What is expected to happen in the case of malaria? A: Scientists believe the possibility of contraction and expansion in the incidence of malaria alike, with the change of seasons transmission. Revealed malaria cases documented in Colombia for the high possibility of a pandemic because of the increased rainfall caused by El Nino events. So expectations associated increased moisture in Colombia with the increasing likelihood of more cases of malaria there in the future. Q: What is the expected impact of climate change on ocean environments change? A: The high temperatures will lead to increased coral bleaching, which would affect the livelihood of fishermen working around the coral reefs. High greenhouse gas emission levels of carbon dioxide would make the ocean more acidic, to the detriment of plankton and displays the entire food chain of all the creatures that depend on the next food from the oceans, including humans at risk. Q: What are some of the health risks of indirect caused by climate change? A: Do not talk about it often, but the war is expected to occur as a result of climate change, it is known that the war affect health. Global warming will leave a number of winners and losers with respect to water supply. It will increase the possibility of the outbreak of fighting over water resources in those areas that will become drier. It is said that some of the conflicts in Darfur today related to the ongoing drought and competition for water resources.
