In such situation strictly following the Internal control procedures and having a close eye on the working of such person will be helpful. If possible, depute such person on some job with less risk.

In my opinion, you will consume alot of energy and time wondering if he/she is betraying you. It will ultimately make a person go mad. In every relationship, I feel trust is the most important thing. A relationship cannot survive if trust is not there. Giving it time and hoping for the best are just means of making you understand that everything would be fine. But trust is something, if lost never comes back.
