A threshold consists of a parameter, or type, and a lower and/or upper threshold value.

Lower  and upper thresholds are lower and upper limits for a threshold.

The module generates an issue automatically when a threshold parameter is below or equal to the lower threshold or equal to or above the upper threshold value.
