I think this is not a matter of Gender. who ever is boss HE/SHE if they have such abilities and skills needed for the said job and he loves to teach subordinates and take care of their issues then best for the position.

I have no preference between women or men. The most important is to be that Competent, Experienced, Open minded, Communicative, Seriousness, Respectful, Honest Understanding Flexible Decision maker Calm Thankful Sensitive and appreciatattive
