I belive that Operations management is about how organization produce, goods and services. As its know that operation management should be linked to Design, Planning and Control and improvements which all sync with the operation strategy that control the performance of any corporate. The Operation management should ensuring the communication between all departments, be the support arm in production planning,
by Identifying skills gaps undertaking a recruitment programme to ensure the high performance by training of staff and managers, providing a motivating staff to achieve production goals.
In addition Operations management should be sure of all IT systems are fit for purpose. and one important rule that the senior managements expect is to manage budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process and be a liaison to senior management and board of directors to keep them up to date with all matters and report & monitor the KPI and make sure that production targets are met.
The senior management set the main strategy and operation management set the plans to execute it and follow up on the progress and report back ( Balanced Performance Indicators).
Top Management are responsible from organization vision, strategy and gathering the team to focus.
They expect fromoperation managers to understand, collaborate and reflect this understanding to subordnates and reflect the strength and weakness to top management to develop sharp strategies.

An Operation Manager must be knowledgeable with “PLOC” Planning Leading Organizing and Control to manage his or her business operations he must make sure to be on time with his deliverables without delays.
Among the most important thing is to make sure that all operations are done in a safe way, according to the company procedures and get the job done on time.
I guess simply run the operations as planned and scheduled and take remedial actions incase of delays, no-shows, etc. I for one would not take an excuse from my Ops Mgr for a slip-up. A good ops manager will not let the business get affected by operational issues. Off course, the more serious ones need to be reported up but regular ones are expected to be taken care of by him or her. Leadership skills like motivation, planning, problem solving, constructive feedback, crisis managementl, appreciation, highlighting star-performers, etc are expected to be there. An Ops Manager is expected to have a bird's eye view of his / her operations and identify the gaps and take care of them so that senior management can take care of business growth and not get involved in solving Operational problems.
Operations managers main role is running the organization business and provide a good company performance, so operations manager responsible to make top and senior managers happy and satisfied, for a good company performance the employees – organization staff – are to perform as best as they can and the equipment/tools as well.
An essential role for the operations manager is to represent management in front of the employees and represent the employees against the top/senior management, this where operations manager plays the role of dispatcher in many establishments.
Top and senior management always look for organization’s perfect performance/profit, realized by a staff being leaded by a good operations manager.
