ِAccording to reports there are 60 Million refugees around the world, Does this figure will be increased or there is light at the end of tunnel ?

I think will be increased.  That report tallies the number of refugees under the UNHCR's mandate, as well as those seeking asylum in other countries and internally displaced people (who have been driven from their homes, but remain within their own country's borders).

An escalating humanitarian crisis in Yemen, ongoing violence in northern Nigeria and persistent conflict in Colombia have contributed to the rising number of internally displaced people, while the war in Syria drove an increase in refugees.

Three countries — Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia — accounted for more than half of the refugees under the U.N.'s mandate. I say:

about this subject. It is clear that the world today is much more dangerous than it was. It is clear that the capacity of the international community to prevent conflicts and to timely solve them, is, unfortunately, much worse than what it was 10 years ago. There are no clear power relations in the world, no global governance mechanisms that work, which means that we live in a situation where impunity and unpredictability tend to prevail, and that means that more and more people suffer, namely those that are displaced by conflicts.

According to Reuters News, Unfortunately, the number of people forcibly displaced worldwide is likely to have "far surpassed" a record 60 million this year, mainly driven by the Syrian war and other protracted conflicts ( the United Nations report )

The estimated figure includes 20.2 million refugees fleeing wars and persecution, the most since 1992, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) .

Nearly 2.5 million asylum seekers have requests pending, with Germany, Russia and the United States receiving the highest numbers of the nearly one million new claims lodged in the first half of the year, it said.

"2015 is on track to see worldwide forced displacement exceeding 60 million for the first time – Almost one  in every 122 humans is today someone who has been forced to flee their homes," !!. The total figure at the end of 2014 was 59.5 million.

An estimated 34 million people were internally displaced as of mid-year, about 2 million more than the same time in 2014. Yemen, where civil war erupted, reported the highest number of newly uprooted people at 933,500.

Developing countries bordering conflict zones still host the lion's share of the refugees, warning about growing "resentment" and "politicization of refugees".

Syria's civil war that began in 2011 has been the main driver of mass displacement, with more than 4.2 million Syrian refugees having fled abroad and 7.6 million uprooted within their shattered homeland as of mid-year, UNHCR said.

Together, nationals of Syria and Ukraine, where a separatist rebellion in the east erupted in April 2014, accounted for half of the 839,000 people who became refugees in the first half of 2015, it said.

Violence in Afghanistan, Somalia and South Sudan sparked large refugee movements, as well as fighting in Burundi, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Iraq.

Voluntary returns - a measure of how many refugees can safely go back home - are at their lowest levels in more than three decades, with only 84,000 people returning by mid-year against 107,000 at the same time a year before, the UNHCR said.

Sadly, many refugees will live in exile for years to come, in effect, if you become a refugee today your chances of going home are lower than at any time in more than 30 years, hopfully not so!

this figure may increase but not decrease as

the decisions of presidents controllers the world (their plans) and

If it continued conflicts and wars, and it has not been terminated , this figure will continue to increase

At any given time in the history of human kind there are a +-1% of it's total population that are refugees. As the population of the earth increases (as it does incredibly fast from more or less 3.03 Billion in 1960 to 7.1 Billion in 2013) the number will go higher.  For me the correct question would be what is the breaking point of the human race. When will humans understand that we are at the edge of a total meltdown and that this small blue planet will not be able to hold as for long. Solution? Well the greatest minds on earth combined will not be able to give you a total solution, from my point of view "simpler lives" would be the total solution . Either we return to our roots or the earth will press that reset button and not willingly send us. 

Until people learn to take based on need rather than selfish greed there will be little improvement to anything in the world. Until humans learn that giving is an amazing loving warm feeling much greater than receiving then humanity has little hope. Even the number of homeless people in rich countries is increasing while the rich are getting richer tripping over them in the streets. While everyone is busy hating on the idea of Trump becoming US president I have to wonder if he would not be the ideal fool to create some huge incompetence mistakes and send the world of the rich crashing and force a much needed breaking point. When the world runs out of grains to feed the cattle and the rich can no longer buy their foods then and only then they will notice the value of their money was misplaced.

According to me the number will increase

As long , the population increases, the number of Refugees, will also increase, at preasent there are 60 million refugees, in comming days, it will be worst, there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks Omar for inviting me this critical and important question too. I belong to Pakistan and experiencing this scanario for last three decades I think that these reports are very horrible and alarming. In the light of my experience as we are hostin Afghan Refugess since 80's these figures will increase in future and am not seeing any RAY OF HOPE.

The greed of power and Rule is very strong in Humman and particularly few countries who continousely involve in conspiracie in other countries . Results are in front of you in the shape og REFUGEES. WHAT is thier fault, why they are becoming refugees? They are lot more examples Like KASHMIR, SOMALIA, SYRIA, UKARINE,SODAN,AFGHANISTAN,PALASTINE,YEMEN and now days Turkey Egypt and many more. The only solutions is that big countries stop interfering in small countries matters but that is not possible and most important thing is that 95% of these refugees are MUSLIMS. There is lot more to write down but this is enough for the reply. WE should think about this as a muslim and humman first being a young generation this is our responsibility to solve these issues and make this world PEACEFULL.

The Economy of a country, a true administration, proper distribution of resources, corrution, wars are the main cause. Every country has its resources but it needs how to use these resources to develop the economy other wise the number of refugees will increase.
