To speed up a laptop or PC: 1.  Upgrading your RAM How to speed up a laptop or PC 2. switch to SSD

One of the best ways to rejuvenate a laptop or PC is to install an SSD. We've installed modern SSDs on everything from old Lenovo ThinkPad laptops to dusty old AMD desktop PCs, and the results are always worthwhile – boot times are a fraction of previously, and even the most frugal of processors feels more sprightly with an SSD working alongside.

How to speed up a laptop or PC 3.  Use CCleaner

Fortunately, there are many utilities designed to hunt down and remove unwanted files and extensions. One program we particularly like is CCleaner. This free piece of software scours your hard drive for all the pesky files hogging your disk space, including temporary files, internet cookies and unused registry files.

How to speed up a laptop or PC

9 ways to speed up your computer/laptop like upgrading RAM, switch to SSD...

  1. For the easiest way you may use a software that frequently empties your RAM, stops unused programs and disables some programs at startup.
  2. I recommend Advanced System Care or Baidu PC Faster.
  3. Although yo can free some disk space by removing unwanted files or uninstalling unwanted programs.
  4. It's better to install the windows on a relatively large partition of minimum 100GB if possible.
  5. For advanced ways you may install a larger RAM of 8GB or 16GB memory, install a larger Hard Disk to increase free space, install a higher VGA Card if you are using graphic programs.

firstly if u have low ram, increase ur ram by2gb to4gb.and your storage capacity must increase if u have low storage.and then u can del or uninstall uncessary file from your windows.or you may increase your speed as  using virutal speed by pendrive or usb from readyboost in windows7 or insatlling software in xp and u may also install and run Ccleaner software also.

The easiest methods are usually the most time consuming methods. If you really want to speed it up without spending much money into it I would recommend you first delete all unwanted documents (you can place there backups in a cloud storage or harddrive if you think you may need to refer to it later). Just keep softwares you require, remove all apps/softwares/plugins that are just decoration. Install ccleaner and wise registry cleaner to clean up all temporary files and bad registry files. Defrag your computer monthly.

Don't know your specs but easiest is upgrading the ram to double of the existing. 2 to 4, 4 to 8. Anything higher you dont need to upgrade ram. On desktop you can replace the os drive with an SSD to speed up most of the applications and os operations. IN laptop ram and hard drive upgrade is the only option.

My advice is as follows without minimal responsibility of its content or its consequences

1) Assuming limited resources, and assuming you usually backup data and settings on a backup external drive which is not part of the system, you can reinstall the operating system, its updates and all the working packages (&defrag). Then you image this installation and use it as a fast recovery every time the PC slows down. 2) Assuming you use windows operating system, and assuming that the data you manage is limited and generally safe, try to depend solely on window malware software (and windows defender) rather than an external antivirus( and an external firewall).

Delete all temporary files from temp folder. Empty recycle being. Delete all cache and cookies from the browser.

You can stop programs that are not important for what you are doing at that particular time. There are some programs that run automatically when you boot the pc so to stop this programs:-

1-open Run-msconfig-startup menu and uncheck the programs that you don't want to start automatically

2-open task manager and in the processes tab select the process that you don't want to run for now right click it and select end process

These two options will speed up your computer speed because your pc available resources will be shared only for the currently running programs .

But If you can it is also possible to upgrade your system like adding ram and hard disk
