I believe when a person decides to work from home it's double the excitement. You have now absolutely no boundaries that specifies the way you have dress, to talk, to sit- you are the king/ queen ! But with freedom comes more responsibility. I believe the first and foremost thing is " You are always on call." That means no matter what you can get a call at any time of the day. So always be prepared. Make a place of your own and keep it a " NO ENTRY ZONE" for all except you. Everyone at home should realise that your choice to work from home is not just for you but for them too. Once you are seated in your zone, even they have to respect your privacy and help you towards making it a success. Sit with your family and make them understand why you chose to work from home and how much it would mean to you when they also join in to make it a success. Often times, we forget to involve our family and letting them.understand why we make certain choices. Secondly, dress up. Look smart. This helps not only you to be focused but you are also letting your children know the value of being well mannered and dressed. We are the mirror for our kids. They learn and copy us. So when we give importance to even the smallest detail of sitting upright at home on a chair, they absorb it. Thirdly, stay connected with your office. Set up a chat environment or a video conferencing where your team knows you can be reached at a certain time frame. Once a week arrange meetings and reports. Lastly, don't forget to switch on "Me Time". Everything has its place and time to do. Being a career woman and housewife can be an overload but you learn to balance all when you have a little "Me Time". During this time, switch off everything around you and let it be just you alone. Meditate, exercise or just simply read a book whatever you like to do, do it in this time frame. Most important of all is to.never forget to seek help. None of us are perfect, we all make mistakes. Whenever you feel it's a bit too much, ask for help, seek guidance. I think this will help a person to balance work and family well enough.

Working from home especially when you are married and have kids is most challenging thing that one can handle in life.

There are 3 things you need to work on to make it happen smoothly:

1. Time Management: Prioritize Tasks accordingly (Get the most important work with critical status first, Work on set work hours & stay committed to it and take short breaks once in 3 - 4 hours and do you personal stuff. Do not extend or work late hours or after your set work time. This is what affects your work life balance.

Taking short breaks during your work hours is very essential as I know many work from home professionals tend to work continously for 5 - 6 hours thiking that they can have the rest of the day for themselves. This really affects the prodcutivity on a long run and gives you a psychological fatigue.

2. Set up your enviorenment & mind set: Wake up on time, bathe & dress up as if you are going to work and then start working. I understand that there is no one that is there to check on your dress code or work hours, however this helps you be more productive as you will be taking work more serious.

Use proper seating & furniture and make sure there are proper lightings in your room. You need to have a work place enviorenment feel.

3. Do a reasearch on softwares & hardwares that will help you be more productive or simplify your work. Invest on them and you will really see yourself sore towards success.

Thanks for the invite. List down your duties. Unsdertand its priorities. There will be certain priority tasks which you need to do at a specific time. Fix them at that best time that it works. Analyse when you are free and set your work time then. This will help you to do your priorities and then balance work

The only balance you can achieve through home based work is by allocating time schedule between work and home. This is subject to co-operation and understanding from the authorized person from home who can support you in this ordeal
