The manager is responsible for planning the aims, objectives and priorities of their work area (and communicating this to their team and to colleagues as appropriate). Depending on your level of responsibility and the grade of the people you are managing, you may need to plan their work at a detailed (daily/weekly) level, or only at a broader scale of monthly or annual objectives.
