What device do you use when determining the exact coordinates of the area ?

I will use RTK for cm accuracy and hand held gps for meter accuracy.

that depend on  the degree of accuracy and the type of this point , however, you can use any GPS instrument and use RTK or static depen on  the classification  of the point and the degree of accuracy

Total stations are used wherever the exact coordinates for area need to be determined.

And if there’s a site calibration for horizontal coordinates we use GPS Survey grade (Static or RTK).

In this modern era of civil engineering, determining the coordinates is really easy to do. we can use any device that has GPS receiver for example mobile phones and if we require more precise coordinate we can use GPS Receiver whether Static Mode or RTK. We can use handheld GPS as well.

well as you have mention exact word in your quetion so i would prefer to total station and the method of work would be close travers to get the exact coordinates of the whole area. other than we can go for GPS fast static if we use GPS. ( answer of the question from me is GPS and Total station)
