Identifying the root casue of issues is the key to succesfully resolving them ensuring non-re-ocurrence. Asking Why, or in RCA terms 5 Whys? enables teams to identify the root cause rather than an effect of the cause, thus allowing them to implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Asking why is the first step in defining a root cause of the problem, when they asking why yu avoid jumping to the solutions and avoid working on the Symptoms of the problem.

It's a key question that will boost the contentious improvement process because how can an employee improve her or his daily job if she or he don't reconsider what they’re doing and ask the right questions for going further on their efficiency.

The question is more related empowering of employee, most commonly known as Employee Engagement.

What I have experienced, people usually amaze themselves when they make use of this simple technique. This usually happens because they can go into great detail yet keeping it simple.

This technique keep us away from playing blame game, usually hints about the solution and let us consider all options to fix the problem.

When combined with simple data analysis, this can be ultimate technique to solve all problems.
