Following are some of  the major use of agricultural marketing:

·    Agricultural products are perishable; therefore, a failure to sell on time results in wasted harvest. All wasted harvest represents a cost of land, water, labor, storage and no income to show for it.

·    Agricultural prices can be quite variable, impacted by changes in weather and harvests in far corners of the world.

·    Different production methods mean that not all food is the same but this information is meaningful only if the consumer knows about it.

Thanks for the invitation Mr. Ashraf , and I find the effect of globalization and the  countinous increase in using information technolgy has affected agriculture marketing together with all other marketing fields;

The experiences in using information technology channels to improve access to market information reveal that it contributed to:

·         Reduced logistics and transportation costs. Farmers obtain the latest information with a phone call instead of making a long trip to a market. They can coordinate with other local farmers to use one large truck rather than several smaller ones to deliver their products.

·         Improved negotiation power. Farmers’ increase their power to negotiate, particularly with traders, based on their ability to understand pricing in multiple markets, to cut out intermediaries, and to sell directly to larger-scale buyers.

·         More sophisticated marketing plans based on price information. For example, farmers can modify the date of marketing, product permitting, or switch to alternate markets, transport and regulation permitting.

·         Broader and deeper networks. Farmers communicate by phone with traders and farmers outside of their immediate geography as opposed to making a physical trip. The ability to communicate more easily and to triangulate information creates deeper trust in key trading relationships.

·         Innovative partnerships. For example, partnerships are facilitated and built among groups of producers, or by virtue of direct communication with corporations and traders, or through the ability to supply product based on just-in-time and/or quality needs.

·         Informed use of inputs. Farmers improve their capacity to raise yields through better use of inputs and/or use of better inputs. They can identify sources of inputs, obtain them more cheaply, and are better able to buy and apply them at the optimal times.

·         Improved farm business management. Farmers can become better managers through better information about which inputs to use, new knowledge about grades and standards for produce, and increased interaction with corporations, traders, and other farmers.

The effect of globalization on Agricultural marketing is that it makes certain agricultural items or products that can only be found and bought in certain countries, available in the international market by shipping them directly to these countries.

Agricultural marketing is very complex because it involves a lot of processes and is not just isolated the marketing aspect of products.  Because it involves perishable goods, agricultural marketing is also involved in planning production, growing, harvesting, packing, transportation and storage, etc.

The effects of globalization are many including: 1. Intense competition but deadly 2. rapid technological development 3. Ease of movement of capital, goods and manpower 4. The emergence of large companies, which manages states and global politics 5. principle of the end justifies the means in the expansion of the giants...

It is intended agricultural marketing enters every effort to add economic benefits related to the delivery of agricultural commodity from the producer to the consumer. It covers all the stages and processes and how the material and cost, which is reflected on the price of food and raw materials transmitted from the farm to the consumer, which means that this marketing includes all operations that follow the production of the product, processing, packaging and grading, packaging and transport from the farm to the local and central storage and collection centers and the consequent financing operations and selling and pricing and material cost, Whether wages or taxes or subsidies or definitions of customs, as well as collection and analysis of information and statistics, marketing and predict what is expected to be the supply and demand and prices, enabling the product to bring agricultural goods to the consumer where the consumer wants to receive in case desired by at the right time. Interest in agricultural marketing has been weak in light of self-autarkic in agriculture, but when agriculture was transformed from self-autarkic appeared division of laborAnd specialization as the basis for agricultural economic data showed the importance of agricultural marketing and flew countries at different stages of economic development towards the lifting of the adequacy of its catalog as the basis for economic development and for the welfare of their communities and raise the living standards of their populations

Agricultural Marketing gives the following advantages,

1) It ensures the reasonable price reaches the actual producer of the goods

2) It avoids or reduces the losses in products due to wastage either by not selling on time or improper storage facility

3) It ensures proper transportation of products with improved facilities

I am not an expert in Agricultural Marketing but let me trying an overview in Agric marketing.

Agric marketing plays an importamt role not only in stimulating production & consumption but also im accelerating the pace of economic dev't.

Agric marketing systems can become a direct sourve of new technical knowledge & induce farmers to adapt up to date scientific methods of cultivation.

An improved Agric marketing system stimulates the growth of a number of Agro bssed industries mainly in the field of procesing.

Agriv marketing processes bring new varieties, qualities & beneficial goods to consumers thus it acts as a line between consumption & production.

With the introduction of green in the global business environment; Agric production in general has substantially increased. Agric once looked as a subsistance sector but now it is slowly changing to a surplus & business proposition.

Hello Team,

Globalization (or globalization) is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture.[1] Advances in transportation, such as the steam locomotive, steamship, jet engine, container ships, and in telecommunications infrastructure, including the rise of the telegraph and its modern offspring, the Internet, and mobile phones, have been major factors in globalization, generating furtAge of Discovery and voyages to the New World. Some even trace the origins to the third millennium BCE.[5][6]Large-scale globalization began in the 19th century.[7] In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the connectivity of the world's economies and cultures grew very quickly.

The word "globalization" is a very recent term, only establishing its current meaning in the 1970s, which "emerged from the intersection of four interrelated sets of 'communities of practice': academics, journalists, publishers/editors, and librarians".[8] In 2000, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) identified four basic aspects of globalization: trade and transactions, capital andinvestment movements, migration and movement of people, and the dissemination of knowledge.[9] Further, environmental challenges such as global warming, cross-boundary water and air pollution, and over-fishing of the ocean are linked with globalization.[10] Globalizing processes affect and are affected by business and work organization, economics, socio-culturalresources, and the natural environment. Academic literature commonly subdivides globalization into three major ares:economic globalization, cultural globalization and political globalization.
