There are sophisticated controllers in the market nowadays that communicates through IP addresses as you assign the master and the slave units of a power plant. Even the internal modules of a single unit does communicate through specific IP address in a digital type controls. In this case, the synchronization and power management happens through this type of communication system, and therefore, if a conflict in the IP is present you might encounter operation problem. Please tell me the type of controller you are using with your diesel units, maybe I can help you more.
