"Residential building energy analysis" means (i) an inspection, investigation, or survey of a dwelling or other structure to evaluate, measure, or quantify its energy consumption and efficiency, including lighting, HVAC, electronics, appliances, water heaters, insulation, and water conservation, and (ii) recommendations to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency of a dwelling or other structure, including lighting, HVAC, electronics, appliances, water heaters, insulation, and water conservation for compensation conducted or made by a licensed residential building energy analyst.

Energy saved is Energy Generated.

Energy Analysis or Energy Auditing evaluate the overall energy consumption of a subject and gives a clear picture on where we can achieve energy conservation. It is the first step to identify any oppurtunities to reduce energy consumption.

Energy auditing and carbon credits drives the organisation to improve the efficiency and reduce the carbon footprints and subsequently green house gas emissions.

as we are aware major consumption of energy comes from heating, cooling and lighting of the buillding this tool helps to reduce all the parameters and build sustainable future

Building energy analysis helps to understand the energy demand of the house. This analysis helps the energy expert to understand how to reduce the energy demand of the house and which building component is consuming more energy. Building energy analysis helped when designing Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) because energy demand of the house need to offset by renewable energy source so accurate prediction will help to avoid from oversizing of the renewables system

Building energy analysis as we know it is like an exercise to know the energy consumption and to focus how to reduce it since we are going to green energy and green building concept. And of course when there is a talk of energy consumption then HVAC is on the top list.

What my experience is, Building Energy Analysis is a part of Energy Audit, here you consider all types of Energy resources utilized /consumed in the building to achieve certain task, we consider instantaneous values of energy consumption and by using using BIN technique we gather all the result and compile the result.

As mention above we will go for  instantaneous values hence we don't consider only the peak. Once the model is ready we can run the program with various options and by altering different inputs we get different results and depend on the Client requirement we  choose a particular set of construction material, orientation of the building, type of HVAC Equipment, lighting etc etc.

Although it is time consuming but a final calibrated model gives almost a realistic result.

(in a basic format): Energy Analysis, when performed correctly, can give the designing team a peak into what the building energy consumption will be in terms of, well, everything.

It can be used during early architectural design phase to assess what kind of massing, insulation and openings (windows) the building will have o reduce energy requirements. Tweaks (large or small) to that model will generate a wide scale improvement to the building performance. Not only this approach helps architects, but also other engineers that can use this information to appropriately size they HVAC equipment, indoor lighting fixtures, electrical loads and many other benefits
