The first thing to ask the client would be the purpose of this website as it is important to understand its objective in order to design one that is fitting and operational perfectly in accord to its functions.

The next step would be to ask about the art direction the client wishes to pursue as well as the targeted audience to build a web design that is fitting of ideally reaching its desired target.

Commonly asked:

  • Details of the business
  • Type of website intended
  • Timescale, or intended launch
  • If the client has an idea of features required (dynamic, mob friendly, graphics, admin modules and such)
  • Whether contend will be provided
  • Scale of this intended project

It is good practice to guide your client through the all the choices they have and discuss their ideas before producing a proposal.

  1. I first ask to them about the layout of the required or demanded WEB DESIGN
  2. Develop a template according to the Required Design
  3. Cecked that template to the customer;if the agreee with that template I started developing otherwise change the template according to their requirement.

In order to understand the requirement of the client, we need to understand his/her need for having the website. Targeting the need for the website can help us understand a lot of the requirement, Example: The Target audiance which will help us undertand what designes can be used for the website. Taking this into consideration we can move ahead with the website.

Learnig about the company plays an important role in designing a website because making a designer themed website for a business firm will not meet the purpose of designing a website.

Website design needs to go with the Logo of the company as keeping the design of the website away from how the logo would look will not satify the need as well.

Knowing the business of the client is the first thing one should find out then his interest/desire is taken care of. The point is the first part is to know the client requirement.

before writing a single code or even drawing a single lin.. these are the most important steps to follow:

  • information gathering
  • planning
  • designing
  • development
  • testing
  • maintenance

in the information collecting step you've to count all the possible resources of information which will help you in creating a website correctly from all aspects and the first resource of information is the CLIENT:

you can ask him about:

purpose of website

Goals of website (eg. make money) upon it u can decide type of website commerce- education etc..

Target audience (gender, ages, type of people, special class of people .. etc)

then finally the content and the pages (mission - vision - history - services)

put in mind of course clients don't understand static or dynamic pages .. so don't ask them would u like dynamic or static.. because this is your job.. upon the information and requirements u collect from the client u can decide if you'll create dynamic or static website, as nowadays static websites are rare..

that it as the beginning hope it's useful

Good Luck
