Good that you're concerned about the fact that you used to search for templatemonster and used to do a similar site...now there are 2 conditions here...
1) did you used to download the template, edit it and publish for the client? If so...
that's very unethical and wrong, its as good as going to someone's house and rob them off...you should not do that a all...it kills creativity, BAD karma if you ask me.
2) Second condition, that you used to get inspired and probably use a screenshot to get some placements as you' d want for client or probably get some ideas on transitions of flash animation and do it everything by yourself from scratch...I'd say nothing wrong with following an idea but if you believe in making the trends rather then following one, you should do better of what you see...
