How to stick on the Project work plan of PERTH cycle to make project successful one?
Everyone wants to start at the begining and work forward.................. On tight schedules I find it more beneficial to start with the end date and work in reverse. This is specifically helpful because a finish date for one trade is a start date for the previous.....sounds backwards, but it works very well!
- Ensure clarity of project goals to all stakeholders and clarify that there will be no change to project's scope once execution is started without impacting the project's time and cost.
- Ensure particiapation of the project's team members in the planning phase.
- Ensure availability of all resources required as per the approved project plan.
- Ensure inclusion of risk mitigation tasks, change management tasks, & effective communication tasks in the approved prject plan.
- Sticj to the plan and perform daily tracking of actual to plan and the project perfromance measures and take corrective actions as required.
Financial planning to maintain right cash flow throughout. Regular project monitoring and review meetings every fortnight. Flexibility in terms and condition of contract to accommodate any extra work that may be required to carry out for the successful completion of project. Proper delegation of power to take timely decision and finally the permanancy of the project team till the completion of project.
