Engineers like anyother professional need a MBA to keep up. Moving is just a step then it's necessary to mantain status.

Perhaps even more important is to move on, that's for those who can adapt.

As an MBA holder, I believe it is necessary for anyone working for a business to have it, including engineers, where MBA provides new perspectives, and a general view of how business works. This is a skill that may move a person from a technical profession to a management profession, which depends on what you would like to do in the next years, hence, if you want to continue on what you do, then I would recommend specilised trainings to improve your skills in that field, if you would like change, then MBA is one of the ways that gives you the chance to move both vertically and horizontally.

Any related education helps but once you are in a company there are two other more practical measures that count:1. What results can you achieve?2. How did you achieve them (this shows if you know what you are doing, how you behaved and if you have developed/can improve)?

No.

Some of technology leaders doesn't even graduate college, but if it's only promotion then it is an added bonus especially if you want get pass in HR fast or in topmost management without raising an eyebrow. If however engineering is in your blood, I'd rather recommend to get further technical skills or expertise/mastery rather than MBA, well unless you really want to manage or purely business.
