I'd say that it really depends on the type of music, but in general, it has a beneficial effect on the child's development. Personally, I try to turn on calming music whenever my kid is around, and I even have a few songs downloaded with Mp3Juice in case we'll go on a trip with no stable internet connection, and even in that case, music will be there. So I think it's actually important to broaden the mind of your kid.

it depends on what the parents used to play during the childhood days. If the parents always play classical music, the child maybe a emotional person or a creative person.

Music affects children';s behavior positively or negatively. This question does not ask how a certain genre of music affects children just 'music" in general.  There are so many kinds of music.  So to answer briefly I will just  explain the negative effects a genre like "rock" has as it has been  the greatest propagator of moral, social and aesthetic  values during the last 50 years. The reason it is so attractive and addictive is because of the structure of the music itself. How?  Rock music not only affects the physical but the mental processes of the body. Music is perceived though the  portion of the brain that receives stimuli for sensations and feelings, without being first screened by the brains centers involving reasons and intelligence.  So essentially, the harmony, melody and beat together contribute to the negative or positive effects of music. Classical music is known to have positive effects on children's memory, mood and behavior. How?  Again, the strategic placement of the beat, rhythm and melody.

i think that music affects childrens behaviors in many ways one of those ways is that it effects how they treat each other , if they listen to loud rock music or music that has bad language this will make them become aggressive and use those words they hear with the people around them
