Credit risk assessment can be carried out for all the customers. An internal rating based system may be developed to monitor the performance of customers based on aging reports. To further enhance the credit report and to protect the interest of the company a better credit strategy can be devised and implemented.

Non Recovery of receivables or unpaid overdue can be evaluated or managed with every effort to collect the outstanding’s.Subsequent bad debts that are deemed uncollectible and eligible for write-off must be reviewed and evaluated & only if appropriate could be deemed to be written off  but,  upon the Approval those accounts shall be removed from the books of accounting.only after all the collection options have been exercised and the debt remains unpaid due to valid reasons.

All documentation of the efforts, including all correspondence received, must be retained until the accounts are either paid or approved for write-off.

Its worth while : Despite write-off, each office should establish a check list against (CNC) currently not collectible & maintain inactive debt files of individual accounts that may be collected subsequently & useful for future credit pre-screening purposes in course of evidence that a debtor has new ability to repay & enforce the same in course of centralized function.
