How do I improve my convincing skills in order to get my ideas across well and effectively?

Firstly Product knowledge is very important...if i have to convince someone i should know the  abc's of the same...convincing someone thereafter becomes fairly easy thereafter as we do know the weakness and strengths so we can work on them in advance to counter reply to questions thrown at us during the talk.. 

we should be very confident about our products.while talking to the customer he should feel like we are telling some thing they really want to hear.that much confidence and affection about our product should come to our face to convince one.

Being HR we should be really good at convincing anybody. In order to put our ideas across others, we need to communicate effectively and we need to be confident enough to put our words across others.

In every topic or any issue theres always a positive and a negative effects, knowing the balance of this two will help you understand things perfectly and in that way you can give the best advice or the best suggestions in convincing other people.

Its depend on expertise and knowledge of any specialities which a person can have possess. Also depend on situations where a person can fit comfortably as per his or her capabilities. The main focus to deliver your ideas that will be concise and complete with relevant to the product, idea or any discussion. Environment is also effected the convincing skills and also dependent on the mood of audience. The right thing at right place can get a person to influence a person or client.

reading random things in order to gain more and more general knowledge in every aspect

In order to sound convincing one needs to construct right arguments to be put forth in a conversation. These right arguments would always entail reasons and facts supported by examples and evidences. Logical approach builds credibility, difficult to be negated and ignored. I suggest you read a little more on Critical Thinking and speaking skills.

The most important aspect of your presentability in a persuasive conversation is your credibility and the sooner you build it, the better it is.  Hence, logical approach in important. Making use of Ethos and Logos, and sometimes pathos is essential to build your credibility.

you can improve you convincing skills by creating connection with the customers and making them feel comfortable around you before making any propositions (using ice breakers,and making compliments...)
