Firstly Product knowledge is very important...if i have to convince someone i should know the  abc's of the same...convincing someone thereafter becomes fairly easy thereafter as we do know the weakness and strengths so we can work on them in advance to counter reply to questions thrown at us during the talk.. 

we should be very confident about our products.while talking to the customer he should feel like we are telling some thing they really want to hear.that much confidence and affection about our product should come to our face to convince one.

In order to sound convincing one needs to construct right arguments to be put forth in a conversation. These right arguments would always entail reasons and facts supported by examples and evidences. Logical approach builds credibility, difficult to be negated and ignored. I suggest you read a little more on Critical Thinking and speaking skills.

The most important aspect of your presentability in a persuasive conversation is your credibility and the sooner you build it, the better it is.  Hence, logical approach in important. Making use of Ethos and Logos, and sometimes pathos is essential to build your credibility.
