In type 1 coordination the design of starter feeder in such a way that if any fault (specialiy short circuit) occurs in this circuit the contactor / starter to be removed and new equipment to be installed WHEREAS if one select the equipment as per type 2 coordination and if any fault occurs the contactor / starter need not to be removed and can be used further, along with this facility the safety of installation is also maintained in type 2 coordination.

we use for clarifiying purpose.....in starter & contactor.

Type I - Under short circuit conditions, the contactor or starter shall cause no danger to persons or installation and may not be suitable for further service without repair and replacement parts.

 

Type II - Under short circuit conditions, the contactor or starter shall cause no danger to persons or installation and shall be suitable for further use. The risk of contact welding is recogized, in which case the manufacture shall indicate the measures to be taken in regards to equipment maintenance.
