they are both similirae, but the API course is advised for auditors on the field of petrolium.
in ISO9001 lead auditor, they will teach you how to interrupt the ISO9001 and audit skills regardless the the industry.

but for the API, it has examples from petrolium industry. the2 courses are going to teach you the auditor skills and how to evaluate and handle situtation.
none is designed to give you the technical knowledge. the auditor expertise and background plays an important part here.
