It's an exagerated conclusion and in my opinion no one HATES Science. It's mere more liking for another field than Science OR vise versa. Each field has it's importance, contribution and limitations and are to be respected.
Example - Law and administration, Politics, Hollywood, Bollywood, Trading, does not have much to do with Science BUT it has it's contribution to the society.

Because it contradicts with most of their core beliefs, making hard to accept the scientific evidence and information as true, not to destroy their beliefs that are taken for granted based on blind faith!
May be all peaple are not interested in science.
This stage passes by many, but it must not be lengthened.
