If the Script does not recognize the Section Family, it will export it as a null element which can later be edited in ETABS.

Method1.(For old version of ETABS9.0 and below)

Download "Nasser’s Tools" into your Revit program( it is a free add in application to Revit), it will export your file to an .e2k file.  Once you get your .e2k file, open your etabs and use import from the File menu and mentioned that you are importing an .e2k file.  Then,  you can save your program as an standard .edb file.  Take note you can only import geometry, grids & sections.

Method2 (For new ETABS &REVIT- & up)

Open your Revit model then Simply use File>Export from Revit to ETABS, follow the steps that will be shown on your windows then you will have an .exr file.  Open your ETABS, then use your File>"Import from Revit" command and follow the steps. Check your model and orientation properly.  Make sure that you know which folder you saved the .exr file.

PS> both method works for any version of ETABS & REVIT, however, I see that sometimes the first method is better for older versions and the2nd method is easier for newer versions.

By saving the model as a DXF file then export it to ETABS .
