It doesn’t matter whether you are reporting solely for a boss without much exposure but what matters is your job knowledge, dedication, willingness to advance in your career and enthusiasm to learn and acquire new skills. If you have the real potential to grow and you are passionate, no force can ever stop you!!!!

If you are Executive Secretary to a CEO, this position is a progression from an administrative assistant to an Executive Assistant to CEO. The next advancement can move ahead after obtaining relevant skills in the Secretary role. Being in the Executive Secretary role, you will learn about organisational management, business operations , interaction with top level managers, high level administration or even recruitment. You will be a jack of all trades. Your next advancement could be as Head of Administration , Head of Operations or Operations Manager.

First of all in what level would you want to be promoted? If you are directly reporting to the CEO then I believe there's no one higher on your position except the CEO and maybe if they have multiple business owners right? Not unless you have senior manager that reports directly to CEO but then if that is the case you are not considered solely working for the CEO. But in any ways just keep working hard, be attentive, don't hesitate to suggest creative ideas, make your boss comfortable with you so it would be easy to see your potentials, be bubbly all the time because great personality always stands out and most especially keep learning. Because one day if you feel like you wanted to grow more then you can go and search for a bigger opportunity outside and you can use all the knowledge you have accumulated working solely for the CEO. After all, everyone is a dreamer, we all wanted to be the big fish whether in a small or big pond.
