How to pull data from Access database into excel?

Step 1 : Open up a New Workbook in Excel and click on the Data tab.

Step 2 :  Under Get External Data select 'From Access'.

Step 3 : Browse to the location of the Database you want to import.

Step 4 : Select the Database table and click OK.

Step 5 : Select how you want to view this data and where you want to put it and               finally click OK.

Then your Database records will be viewed in Excel.

Open up a new workbook in Excel and click on the Data tab. Then under Get External Data click on From Access.Browse to the location of the database you want to import.If there are several tables you will need to select the one you want to get the data from.Select how the data will appear in the workbook and choose the cell where you want it to start then click OK.The table data will be place in Excel with the Design tab open so you can organize the look and feel for presenting the data.If you want to get multiple tables into the Workbook, just repeat the above process and import it into new worksheets or different areas on the same worksheet.This process saves a lot of time when going through large amounts of data versus sorting through a report. This should get you started with organizing items from the database however you need it.

  •    Select cell A1 in a new worksheet. (Don't select a cell on your invoice.)   Display the Data tab of the ribbon.    Click the From Access tool, in the Get External Data group. Excel displays the Select Data Source dialog box. (This looks very much like a standard Open dialog box.)    Use the controls in the dialog box to find and select the Access database that has your customer information.    Click Open. Excel displays the Select Table dialog box, provided there is more than one table in the Access database you opened.    Select the name of the table or query that contains your data.    Click OK. Excel displays the Import Data dialog box.    Use the controls in the dialog box to specify how and where the data should be imported.    Click OK. Excel grabs the data you specified and places it in the worksheet.

Open X access file. Right click on the table. Select Export option from shortcut menu. It would ask destination database.. Tell it the Z access file, press ok, it would be exported from X to Z mdb file. Similary you can export other tables also to Z database. Then you can use access interface to write queries to retrieve or alter data. Once quries in Z database give satisfactory results, then right click on the query and select "Export". It would ask to save to.... Then in "Save As Type", select Excel and press OK. The result of the query would be saved in MS-Excel file.

  • From the toolbar click on the External Data tab
  • Click Excel on the Export group
  • It will open the export excel spreadsheet dialog box
  • Specify the destination of the file name and format
  • When you click OK, it will export the data to Excel spreadsheet
