How can we implement 6 sigma in food industries?

Food Industries especially food processing industries are very complex industries. you need to decide your scope either for food safety or productivity. Basically sigma6 is implemented  to get  a99.9 % of  product without any defects. basically it is applied in some area such as reduce process cycle time, reduce pollution, reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction, and increase profits. While in case of food industry safe food is important & then this criteria will affect the recovery of process.  Implementation of6 sigma is quite difficult but not impossible.

Look in general Six Sigma is applied to reduce the no. of defects in a process "improve the output of a process"

so you can determine the processes that have defects in their outputs and try to improve the process and reduce the no. of defects under the methodolgy steps
