Is setup a part of changeover? Or in turn changeover is a part of setup? Can any researchers out there give a brief explanation with references?

Dear Syazwan,

 Change over is a time between  last finished good to 1st good of new product with consistent speed. 

So set up is also a part of change over.

Following SMED methodology the production cycle is combined between : Production + Changeover .

In changeover we found two kind of operations : Internal and External .

By defintion Setup can be taken as internal operation if it's make when the machine is running and it's can be considered external oparation if it's make when the machine is shut-off .

In both case Setupe is part of Changeover
